Is IXWebhosting Reliable?

IXWebHosting has proved to be a reliable hosting company for us for the last 2 years. Based on this experience we have decided to cancel our other accounts with couple other hosting sites.

So, is IXWebHosting right for you? Well, it depends. If you are just starting up and looking to host maybe 1 to 5 domains then this probably is a good bet. In April of 2008 IXWebHosting moved to a new hosting center and I can say that the site response time has improved dramatically. This website is currently on IXWebHosting server, so you can decide how the load time is for yourself. Reliability has not been an issue for us, with very good uptime. I believe I have opened maybe 2-3 trouble tickets in the past couple year with site coming back online within a few hrs.

Ok, so how about IXWebHosting interface and Usability?

Interface is Hsphere, not the most user friendly but has all the features needed for site operations like database management, URL redirects, and web email. We would have preferred Cpanel interface at its much more user friendly.

Overall, with some learning curve you will be able to manage your website all from the web interface. They even have a web shell that allows for file upload/download right from your browser, a gzip file uncompress option that will save quite a bit of time when uploading.

Is the bandwidth really unlimited at IXWebHosting?

Our bandwidth usage is probably on the low end, and has not had any issues. We would think that if you are on the higher priced plans the likelihood of having your account flagged is less. As with any shared hosting the hosting company is going to review your resource usage and flag your account if they find that a certain account is 'exploiting' their generous offers.

Think of 'unlimited bandwidth' as one less thing to worry about when you are starting off your website presence. Getting banned for high usage is a GOOD problem to have when you get to that. Why? that means you have LOTS of traffic and if you have your site monetized right it means you are making LOTS of money.

So, with that said, I have to stress, with all hosting features being negligible or standard at all hosts, IXWebHosting with its dedicated IP's (8 for Business Plus plan) is a steal of a deal and a MUST have in order to optimize your websites.
